How to prepare an inquiry for industrial equipment
What initial information will help you discuss the configuration and obtain a specific proposal.
Start with the product and the task
Describe the raw material, finished product and operation you want to perform. Specify whether you are buying equipment for a new production area or adding to an existing line. Attach photographs of the product and existing equipment if they help explain the task.
Specify the workload
State the desired batch size, number of batches per shift and available operating time. This initial information is needed to discuss throughput; chamber capacity alone does not determine output per shift.
Describe the site
Prepare the dimensions of the room, openings and delivery route. Clarify the available electrical supply and utilities. Final connection requirements are agreed for the selected configuration.
Document the outcome
Ask for the proposal to include the scope of supply, technical parameters and terms for installation, training, warranty and servicing. Agree on the manufacturing lead time and payment procedure separately.
