What to include in a mixer specification

A short checklist of questions about raw material, batch size, loading and equipment cleaning.

Mixture composition

Specify the components, their proportions and material properties: particle size, bulk density, moisture content and tendency to cake. If the data is not yet known, state this in the inquiry instead of giving approximate values.

Batch and cycle

Describe the batch mass or volume, loading sequence and planned number of cycles. Agree on how the mixing result will be assessed.

Loading and unloading

Explain what containers the raw material arrives in and where the mixture should go. Clarify loading heights, site limitations and the need to connect to adjacent equipment.

Cleaning and maintenance

Discuss the frequency of product changes, access to working parts, the cleaning method and requirements for construction materials. These conditions should be included in the agreed configuration.
